Transfer animals to a breeding cage (new or existing cage), and then set up the mating. ** Placing animals in a breeding cage will not create a mating unless you have activated automatic matings!
Select cage and click the Mating Action Button. Note that the cage column Matings - Active can be selected to view actual matings connected to a breeding cage.

Select the animals, note that the cage is already selected and you can skip the cage section.
Select Cage
Skip this section unless you want to use a different cage.
Project and Owner
Select Project (if applicable) and Owner from dropdown menu.
Dam and Sire
Skip this section, since the animals are already selected.
Options
The options are selected for you by default. Keep selected to transfer the breeding animals to your selected or new cage, and verify that the cage is empty.
